Kera committee members met on the 26th of February to walk around the estate with the Estate managers and the Wandsworth waste management team. It was positive.
We discuss a possible strategy to add big grey bins and tackle fly tipping. We were told that we could either get a big bin collection or small bin collection, but NOT BOTH.
We discussed having a double collection a week, but there is a cost.
We found an alternative by having few big recycling bin installed as a trial.
This still need to be confirmed by the council, but watch this space…
Wandsworth’s London Borough of Culture 2025 Programme has launched!
Kicking off this April, our year-long celebration will bring people together to enjoy the rich mix of traditions, festivals, food, and arts that make our borough so special. This year is all about showing how culture can spark joy, making us feel happier, healthier and more connected to each other.
Sandra Munoz-Alvarez, chair of Kambala Resident Association, is one of the Wandsworth London Borough of Culture’s Champions, and she will make sure to share all the amazing events currently brewing for this amazing year through her Battersea Noticeboard Whatsapp group. The champions are local creatives who share the information, attend funding decision meetings for the various art funds, and are involved directly with the London Borough of Culture. In Kambala, we started the London Borough of Culture year by securing funding from the the Royal Academy of Dance and organising free Flamenco Classes in our community clubroom

Get ready for epic experiences: from a mass dance event to huge outdoor concerts, plus festivals of food, heritage and performing arts, all designed to lift spirits, spark creativity, and connect us all.
Culture is for everyone, and 2025 will open doors, offering young people creative opportunities, involving every school, and paving pathways to careers in the arts.
The Official Wandsworth London Borough of Culture video launch was premiered at the BAC Art Centre on the launch day, and another version was displayed later in the evening on the iconic Picadilly Circus screen.
This year is more than an event – it’s a catalyst for change, aiming to improve our wellbeing, strengthen our communities, and celebrate the joy culture brings to our lives.

We’re excited to announce that the Kambala Residents’ Association website has been revamped—with a new name and a fresh look!

You can now find us at www.mykambala.co.uk.
We chose this name because Kambala is more than just an estate
It’s our home, our community, and “My Kambala” belongs to all of us.
Our email has also changed to [email protected], making it easier to reach us.
The updated website will keep you informed about events, community projects, resident updates, and ways to get involved. Check it out and stay connected! 💙🏡
Kambala Residents’ Association will soon be knocking on doors to collect signatures from at least 20% of our residents—a requirement to remain an accredited Resident Association. We must complete this process by the end of March 2025.

To make the process smoother, we’re looking for volunteers from each block to help collect signatures from their neighbors. Having a familiar face makes a big difference!
If you can help, please reach out via our Residents’ WhatsApp group or email us at [email protected].
One of our KERA committee member will contact you back, bring you the form and collect the signatures wit you on your chosen time.
Your support keeps our community strong—thank you! 💙🏡
Elena, our first Representative of the Residents Association, to the Council’s Consultative Committee Panel, has taken on the voluntary responsibility of looking after the condition of Fawcett Close (i.e. that path which is connected to Wye Street).

Thus for over a Year and a half, Elena has been constantly taking residents complaints about the over grown bushes and trees along the pavement, near the ‘Boris Johnson’s Bike Parking place’, to the Council, at various meetings and contacts with Councillors.
As a result the Estate Manager Patrick Byrne – sent workers from the “Surrey Environmental Group” to clear and tidy up the entrance, windows and pavement, from overgrown bushes, trees and foliage that were growing uncontrollably over the years.
Above you can see the difference this clearance has made. While residents are now relieved to walk on their pavements and enter their dwelling blocks in safety.
🎄 Good wishes for 2025 from Kambala RA! 🎄
We’re thrilled to share the highlights from our Kambala Christmas Party and Grotto, held on December 21st. This festive celebration brought our community together and created magical memories for local children.
With the help of our very own Mr. and Mrs. Santa, we handed out over 100 gifts to delighted children, spreading joy and holiday cheer across Kambala.
A heartfelt thank you to Big Local and Battersea Alliance for generously funding this special event. We’re also incredibly grateful to our amazing volunteers, whose hard work and dedication made it all possible.
Here’s to continuing to strengthen our community in the year ahead. Wishing you all a joyous holiday season and a wonderful 2025! 🎅✨
